Red Dog Woodworks, based in San Diego, California, is owned and operated by Mike Tamoush. Mike’s interest in woodworking started early, as woodshop classes he enrolled in when he was younger piqued his interest in the art. After graduating from UCSD with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, he began to realize that his passion was woodworking, and his engineering background would be a tool to be utilized in his art and design. Many of his designs are very geometric, with clean sharp lines. Furniture and other artistic pieces are designed with form and function being equally important.
Mike’s woodworking experience flourished while at Borden & Erickson, a San Diego-based custom cabinetry business. His responsibilities included construction and installation at the Lindbergh Airfield (San Diego’s airport) and many high-end homes, such as a 27,000 square foot estate on the cliffs in La Jolla.
Red Dog Woodworks strives to bring a unique angle to a fading art. Red Dog’s custom work is unique, high quality, functional, and artistic. Each one-of-a-kind piece is handmade from raw materials.
